Darrell Raithel, nicknamed "Doctor" by Roger Perso, Control Data Middle East
Country Manager in 1977, was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on a cold, rainy
morning January 30, 1947. Twelve hours later that day his cousin Stanley Roach
was born in the same hospital. Other than Stanley’s tour in Vietnam their
only claim to fame, to date, has been that they were both born on Franklin
Delano Roosevelt’s birthday.
Raised on a farm in Franklin County, Tennessee, Mr. Raithel accompanied his mother, Hilda,
on many revival meetings supporting her pastor, the late Elder Emmett J. Allen, in and
around Tullahoma, Tennessee.
In 1965 he relocated with his family to Sunnyvale, California and enrolled in Foothill
Junior College. He graduated in 1972 with honors from nearby San Jose State University
with a BS/BA in business. He went on there to work for Control Data Corporation as a
Personnel Administrator.
In 1977 he accepted a promotional transfer to Teheran, Iran, as Personnel Manager for
Control Data Middle East Operations. He also acted as Missionary Assistant to Rev.
Jim Wood for the UPCI.
In the late fall of 1978 he evacuated CDME TCN (third country nationals) and American
expatriates prior to the downfall of the Shah from Teheran.
Many of his thoughts have been influenced by such writers as: Hal Lindsey Late
Great Planet Earth, Dr. Charles Taylor The Destiny of America, as well as the
works of Dake, Schofield, Matthew Henry and others.
"Dr. Raithel" took his early "in house" ministerial training from such stalwart men as
the late Elder Voar Shoemake in San Jose, California, and Elder James Kilgore, Senior
Pastor at Life Tabernacle in Houston, TX. He has evangelized and given many prophecy
seminars in various churches and denominations during this time, and are still available
